The Relaxing Practice of Drawing – Art Class

Drawings for @drawnontheway art class on Zoom today!

The sloth 🦥 was an ’emotional drawing’, as in I was free to choose something in my surroundings that has personal value for me; Micky @octobernocturne got us this sloth, and another one too, for Christmas, like shared gifts. 🎁

The poodle 🐩 was a ‘blind contour drawing’, which meant I had to not look at what I was drawing, so as to silent my ‘inner critic’. 🤔💭 (I felt insecure doing this exercise, tbh.)

Last slide is a selfie of me with one of my prints of my art on the wall behind me. 🐱

Like me, the art teacher is a self-taught artist, so that was very inspiring! ^.^ 💕

WIP: Carnation, Amy, and Leopold (CotMS)

I’ve been rearranging the apartment, since I realised I have a lot of space in my room (technically a large walk-in closet), so I have been taking my boxes of old stuff from the hallway, and putting them into my room.

Naturally, I’ve been going thru some of the boxes as I do so, and was happy to rediscover my art book from 2015-2016 (when we resided at the Victorian mansion), which I thought was lost forever! I was so grateful to find it – tysm, God! 🙇🏻‍♀️🙏🏻😇

I also found a very large sketchbook with this trio inside its pages; what’s so special, as well as rare, about this is, all three of us drew this together – I drew Carnation, Micky @octobernocturne drew Amy, and Rob @timewillcrawl94 drew Leopold! 👩🏻‍🎨👨🏼‍🎨👨🏻‍🎨

They’re in Curse of the Mysic Sword, a Gothic novel we’ve been writing since Autumn, 2006. Carnation is an independent woman, ever at odds with Leopold, who – unbeknownst to her – is a vampyre, as is his adopted daughter, Amy. 🌹🥀🦇🥀🌹

(… we’re gonna need a bigger scanner! 😆)

Sakon watches over his younger friend, Sha-Mina, as she sleeps on the floor in one of the many hallways in the clan’s temple. They might argue quite a bit, but she will never know how much that stubborn boy truly cares. He meant it when he said he’d protect her from the nightmares. ♡

Cheeky scenario featuring sensible Tomoe and restless Sha-Mina, two of the few girls in the #EternityClan, and #originalcharacters from my upcoming #webcomic, #SoulOfEternity. 

Being my #SoulAvatar, Sha-Mina is as whimsical and rebellious, having the attention span of a moth – Tomoe’s English lessons go right over the younger one’s head. 

Note Tomoe’s “I’m tired of your BS” face! 😹😹😹

I feel pretty inspired today, and just did this quick sketch of Lam Ching Ying and Baby Jiang Shi! ♡ I love his films, especially the ones where he plays the inspiring Taoist Priest who saves the day, often with his bumbling disciples. Baby Jiang Shi is so adorable, I love how he gets to help his foster Papa out on these fantastical missions! n_n ♡

Pride 2021 – Viktor x Barley

This is Viktor Amaranth, the tall one, with his significant other, Barley Wood, who is also Viktor’s butler. They’re both bi, and share an intimate bond since their youth. Barley is a half-elf, half-human hybrid, and Viktor is a human descent of faeries. They’re in our upcoming main webcomic.

Art therapy: Social Anxiety

My therapy homework – the social worker said I could visualize, write or draw about myself in social settings to help combat my social anxiety (since I’m refusing to go outside on my own again… 😬) so here I am on the arts street with a peach iced tea from Hyrule Market (which is what we call the marketplace there) since I said I wanna be able to go there on my own someday… hopefully soon!! 😁
